Founded by Pastors Gladwyn & Helen Turner, Southside began Sunday afternoons in a local pub in 1974, as a ‘Spirit-filled’ teaching ministry. By 1979 we’d become a local church, meeting at Gymea High School. From 1981 we met in the old Miranda picture theatre and from 1988 in a converted factory at 175 Pt Hacking Road, Miranda. Since early 1980s we’ve been actively involved in world missions, partnering with indigenous leaders in planting many churches in Asia, India, Africa. In 2016 Gladwyn & Helen became the Mission Pastors of the church and handed the leadership of the church to Pastor Phil Macarthur who has taken the church forward in a new and fresh direction.
